Dear fellow climbers and skiers,
As happens for the past 17 years, we had planned to open the refuge for the winter climbing / ski touring season from between March 21st and 25th and then later on April.
As you all know things with COVID-19 are not looking good and the Greek Government over the last days has suspended the operation of most public and private operations, as well as of all touristic infrastructures. These comprehensive measures aim to the health and safety of the local population, the staff working in the tourism industry and to the guests from around the world.
Under this new situation for all of us, we inform you that the operation of Refuge Ch. Kakkalos is postponed to the beginning of the summer season on May 29 2020.
I hope you understand this subtle situation, where all of us have to make personal efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, irrespective of our passions and love for the mountains.
