Dear Mountain lovers,
After a lovely winter season in the refuge that lasted for more than a month with a good dose of skiing and climbing, we are now planning our summer season opening on
Thursday May 25.

Even though the winter was not the best in terms of snow accumulation, because snowfall came on Mount Olympus late by the end of January, February and March had moderate snowfalls and were relatively warm, it now seems that the winter has moved backwards. April has seen excessive snowfalls in the high elevations of Mount Olympus and the Plateau of Muses.
For climbers wanting to wonder in the alpine zone and the summits of Mytikas and Stefani prior to the refuge opening, please make sure to have with you winter equipment (ice axes, crampons, proper clothing) to consult the weather forecast and also to check our webcam and meteo station for the current snow conditions (
https://www.snowreport.gr/snowcam/olympos/).
Best wishes for the coming climbing season on Mount Olympus!
